Nestled in the heart of the Vermont countryside, the Old Lantern Events Barn welcomes guests with the rustic charm of exposed post and beam and the luxury of heat/AC throughout over 6000 sq ft of event space. Every event is planned under the guidance of our elite events team who will be with you every step of the way.

More than ‘just’ a venue

Our events team is committed to providing you with an unmatched experience from your initial inquiry through last call. Venue, catering and bar services are all handled in-house, making for a seamless planning experience. We are happy to share our exclusive list of our trusted external vendor partners if you’d like to elevate your event with photographer, music, florals or more! Our team will handle setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, linens and place settings – allowing you to allocate your time to decor and the details that make the celebration unique to you!

Venue Rental

  • Saturday: Starting at $4,500
  • Sunday-Friday: Starting at $2,000
Venue rentals include 4 hours of event time, with an additional 4 hours of setup time prior to the start of the event (earliest arrival is 9:00am). Additional event time is available at $500/hour. “Event Time” is calculated from guest arrival until the conclusion of entertainment and bar services.

The venue fee includes much more than the space itself:

  • Tables | 5ft round tables and 8ft rectangles are available as guest tables and banquet tables
  • Chairs | Dark brown chiavari chairs are available for use within the barn | White folding chairs are available for outdoor ceremonies
  • Place Settings | B&B Plates, Salad Plates, Dinner Plates, Salad Forks, Dinner Forks and Knives
  • Glassware | Stemmed Water Goblets, Stemmed Wine Goblets, and a full selection of bar glassware
  • Decor | Wooden Rounds, Easels, Hurricane Glasses, Votive Glassware, Bud Vases, Table Numbers and more are available for use by all couples celebration at the Old Lantern

In-House Bar Service

A full bar is available, including a wide variety of beer, wine and liquor as well as extensive non-alcohol options. The Old Lantern Events Barn holds a Vermont State Liquor License and all required insurance.

Our standard bar service charge is $250 per 100 guests. This is discounted 50% for open bars charged by consumption, and the service charge is eliminated for package-based open bars. Please see our bar services page for more detailed information about bar pricing & offerings!

In-House Catering

Our catering partners have been selected to offer our clients a wide range of food options while ensuring the quality of both the food and service remains top tier for a seamless event day. Outside catering will be considered on a case by case basis – please reach out to our events team if you have something in mind that you’d like to explore!
Farmers & Foragers is owned by Solomon Bayer-Pacht (who is also the owner of the Old Lanterns Events Barn!) and operates seasonally out of a food truck at “Dockside” Burlington Marina, as well as the kitchen at the Old Lantern Events Barn. True to their name, the Farmers & Foragers catering menus tie in as many locally sourced ingredients as possible, ensuring the highest quality available.

Backyard Bistro is a staple of the Charlotte food scene, owned by Adam & Jill Spell. From wood fired pizza to a chef’s table prime rib carving station, Backyard Bistro’s menus are vast and approachable for all palates. 

Every detail about working with the Old Lantern team was wonderful. We loved the feel of the barn, the ability to have an outdoor ceremony (and a beautiful indoor option if weather didn’t cooperate) and the ability to stay onsite with the Inn right there! We utilized the preferred catering with Backyard Bistro VT which was absolutely delicious! The old lantern staff were so easy to work with, answering thoroughly every question I could have had in the planning process. The execution of all the planning and details were seamless, with guidance for the ceremony and the coordinator handling all the vendors and coordination!

Our daughter was married at The Old Lantern Inn and Barn this weekend, and I couldn't wait to write this review. As the mother of the bride, you want everything to be PERFECT for your daughter. This goal was achieved with the help of Sol, Lisa, Jess and Jill at The Old Lantern. They were kind, professional, helpful, understanding, patient and hard working. They answered questions (probably multiple times) with calmness and explanation. I was fully able to enjoy the wedding, handing over all worries when I was needed to be present.
