Farm-to-Table in a Historic Barn
Vermont Farmers & Foragers brings award-winning farm-to-table cuisine to the Old Lantern Events Barn through an exclusive dinner series that celebrates local farms, seasonal ingredients, and the art of gathering around great food. Chef Solomon Bayer-Pacht—who owns both Vermont Farmers & Foragers and the Old Lantern—creates multi-course menus that tell the story of Vermont agriculture, one carefully sourced ingredient at a time.
These intimate dinners transform the historic barn into a culinary destination where foodies, locavores, and anyone who appreciates exceptional food gather for evenings of seasonal celebration. From weekly winter pop-ups to exclusive harvest dinners and special themed events, each gathering showcases what makes Vermont’s food culture extraordinary.
About Vermont Farmers & Foragers
Vermont Farmers & Foragers operates seasonally from their food truck at Dockside Burlington Marina and year-round from the kitchen at the Old Lantern Events Barn. Built on direct relationships with 14+ local farm partners, every ingredient served at F&F dinners comes with a story of Vermont soil, seasons, and the farmers who steward the land.
Our culinary team visits partner farms regularly, understanding each season’s offerings firsthand and building menus around what’s thriving at that very moment. Spring ramps. Summer heirloom tomatoes. Fall squash. Winter root vegetables stored in cold cellars. The menu ebbs and flows with the seasons of Vermont—which true locals know is far more than four times a year.
This isn’t farm-to-table as a marketing buzzword—it’s the foundation of everything Vermont Farmers & Foragers creates. From the beef on your plate to the herbs garnishing each course, you’re tasting Vermont’s agricultural landscape in its most delicious form.
The Dinner Experience
Communal Dining Most F&F dinners feature communal seating at long harvest tables, creating an atmosphere where strangers become friends over shared plates and conversation. You’ll meet your neighbors, hear their stories, and celebrate Vermont’s food culture together.
Multi-Course Menus Dinner typically features thoughtfully composed courses, paced throughout the evening to allow time for savoring, conversation, and connection. Each course highlights seasonal ingredients from partner farms, prepared with techniques that range from rustic and simple to refined and complex.
The Barn Setting The historic Old Lantern barn provides a backdrop you simply can’t replicate in a traditional restaurant. Exposed post and beam architecture dating to the 1800s, bistro lighting, candlelit tables, and the warmth of central heating on cold Vermont nights create an ambiance that’s both elegant and authentically rustic.
Beverage Pairings True to our roots, our beverage program highlights as many local elements and entities as possible. Our drink menus feature a wide range of local craft beers and Vermont spirits, with many of our cocktails incorporating products farmed and foraged right here in the Green Mountain State.
