The Events Barn

With architectural elements dating back to the 1800’s, the cozy rustic charm of the event barn provides a unique space to celebrate any occasion. The barn has been a dedicated event space since the 1960s. From planning assistance to in-house catering and bar services, our team will provide everything you need to help to bring your event vision to life.
With a capacity of 300 people, our indoor event space is one of the largest in Vermont.
Rustic charm meets luxury with heat and AC throughout the building and a built-in optimized sound system. Multiple restrooms are available in both the lounge and reception hall. Coat racks are available for guests. All event spaces are ADA compliant. Ample parking is available on site.
We are fortunate to be allowed to host live music until 11pm – a late curfew for Vermont venues!
The venue fee includes use of in-house tables, chairs, place settings, glassware and more. Our events team will handle table & chair setup and breakdown according to your floor plan, leaving your time allocated to the fun decor details.
For guests traveling from afar, Burlington International Airport is just 24 minutes from the venue. Downtown Burlington is an easy, 15 minute drive North on Route 7, with Middlebury just 30 minutes to the South. The ferry to Essex, NY is just a few minutes down the road.
Our Spaces

The Bar and Lounge
Our cozy bar room encompasses more than 2000sq ft, featuring a large bar area, flexible floorplans to suit your event needs, bistro lighting, and of course – the iconic pool table.
Large barn doors separate the lounge from the main hall, easily dividing the space into its own entity, or setting the stage for a grand reception entrance. Seasonally, the lounge spills over onto the west lawn, often boasting incredible sunsets as the sun dips behind the Adirondacks over Lake Champlain.

The Reception Hall
The main reception hall is over 4000sq ft – one of Vermont’s largest exposed beam event barns. The stage is centered in front of the dance floor, featuring the iconic disco ball hanging in the rafters. A ‘Green Room’ sits adjacent to the stage, often used as a bridal suite. Multi-stall men’s and women’s rooms are available.
A paved entryway from the parking lot leads to a large barn door entry on the south wall. The barn doors along the eastern wall open onto a large covered porch leading to the eastern lawn – a popular location for photos. The reception hall is connected to the bar & lounge with a third set of large wooden doors, creating seamless flow between spaces.
The Green Room
Located just off of the reception hall, a Green Room is situated next to the stage. With seating, heat/AC and a large mirror, this makes a great bridal suite, prep room, or traditional ‘Green Room’ for concerts and entertainment.

The Grounds
We encourage our event guests to utilize the outdoor spaces as much as possible! From lawn games to satellite bars & cocktail tents, there is ample space to enjoy the Vermont countryside and mountain views. The Charlotte Trails Committee maintains the “Charlotte Village Loop Trail”, a section just shy of two miles with access from the Old Lantern parking lot. The hillside at the start of the trail is an exceptional location for photos!
